Retainage Control G/L Account

If you require retainage to be posted to its own GL account, then you can create a Retainage Control G/L Account as in the following example:

Customer Posting Groups

In the Customer Posting Groups specify "Retainage Control Account".

Payment Terms

Create Payment Terms record (or records) for retainage release.

Sales & Receivables Setup

Specify "Retainage Release Postfix" in the section "Background Posting" in "Sales & Receivables Setup".

Check the flag "Allow Manual Retainage Lines" if you want to add retainage or retainage release lines to sales documents manually.


Customer Card

Enter retainage-related fields in Customer Cards for customers who may be subject to retainage.
