Maintenance Fees Coverage and Notes
The purpose of the maintenance invoice is to cover updating and dealing with upgrades to BC and HomeBuilder.
- We do request that customers sign up for this for the first year however if you want to take over this task after this period, please make this request with your Account Manager.
- Most customers sign up as insurance against issues with upgrades, we cover any typical errors. One example was where a partial bank rec caused a data issue. It took us 8 hours to fix the error and the customer was covered for this topic with our monthly fee. If they did not have the monthly coverage, we would have had to bill them.
Notes and basic caveats about this maintenance fee:
- We setup this program based upon requests from customers who received charges to update their system and told us that they did not want surprises and were prepared to pay a little to know they were covered.
- We do not guarantee all issues with upgrades as Microsoft might send something that is just too much to cover. We truly do not want to charge customers if they agree to pay us the monthly fee and we have not had to make an additional charge since Business Central was released.
- We are prepared to do monthly updates with this plan if that is your preference. Most people choose 4 times per year, and we request a minimum of twice per year so that the changes are not too significant between each update.
